About MJCA
The Mississippi Junior Cattlemen’s Association (MJCA) is a youth organization dedicated to supporting and developing young people who have an interest in Mississippi’s cattle and beef industry. Through hands-on experiences, education, and involvement, MJCA helps prepare youth to become knowledgeable leaders and advocates for agriculture.
Our Mission
MJCA’s mission is to educate, engage, and empower youth by providing opportunities that promote leadership development, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the beef cattle industry. The association strives to build strong character, industry knowledge, and a lasting appreciation for agriculture.
Who Can Join
MJCA is open to youth of all backgrounds who are interested in beef cattle, agriculture, and leadership. Membership is not limited to those from cattle operations—any young person eager to learn, grow, and be involved in the cattle industry is welcome.
What We Do
MJCA offers a variety of activities throughout the year, including contests, educational programs, meetings, and special events. These opportunities allow members to gain hands-on experience, learn from industry professionals, and connect with peers who share similar interests.
Leadership & Development
Through participation in MJCA, members develop essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, decision-making, and leadership. Members are encouraged to take an active role in events and activities that help prepare them for future success both within and beyond the cattle industry.
Why MJCA Matters
MJCA plays a vital role in strengthening the future of Mississippi’s cattle industry by investing in youth. By encouraging education, leadership, and involvement, MJCA helps cultivate the next generation of producers, industry leaders, and agricultural advocates.
Get involved
Joining MJCA provides youth with the opportunity to learn, grow, and build lifelong connections within the cattle industry. Members gain valuable experiences, make lasting friendships, and become part of a supportive community dedicated to agriculture and leadership.
Annual Meetings
MJCA hosts two annual meetings each year, providing members and families with multiple opportunities to connect and get involved. One meeting is held during the Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the other takes place at the Mississippi State Fair. These meetings allow members to receive important updates, discuss upcoming events, recognize accomplishments, and conduct association business. They also serve as a time to bring junior cattlemen and women together, strengthen relationships, and celebrate involvement in Mississippi’s cattle industry.
